February Star Sanctuary Inc

The February Star Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) and family-run farm in Knoxville, Maryland, with a mission focusing on the rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and permanent refuge of cats and horses in need. FSS accomplishes its mission through direct animal care, community outreach, and educational programming. Through our community outreach and educational programming, we create engaging learning experiences for potential adopters, others who share in our passion, and for adults and children alike by teaching the importance of empathy and respect through positive interactions with our animal residents. With few organized efforts in our geographic region, what once began as devout volunteerism has transformed into an essential leadership role for improving animal welfare in the community.

Our current programs include TNR (trap-neuter-return), foster programs, adoption services, and sanctuary for cats. In 2020, we are launching a one-of-a-kind foster program specifically for cats of individuals and families experiencing homelessness while they find permanent housing. Our programming for horses include rescue, rehabilitation, adoption services, and permanent sanctuary at FSS. We engage with the community through our Responsible Pet Care programs and at expos. 

At February Star Sanctuary, we are a 100% volunteer-run organization, with all proceeds helping cats and horses in need. With your support, we can make a huge, positive impact on many horse's and cat's lives!
