About Us

February Star Sanctuary's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide permanent refuge for cats and horses in need. With your generous support, FSS will have the ability to reach more animals that desperately need our help. From the first days of purchasing our 124.5-acre farm, we immediately began to shelter countless animals and connect them with adopters as a labor of love. With so many animals in need of care, we do everything in our power to end their suffering. Through emergency and routine medical care, nutritious food, active play and engagement, foster care, adoption, and sanctuary, we assist our residents and TNR pals in living their best lives. We are a no-kill sanctuary and protect all of our rescues, including our special needs and FIV/FeLV kitties. 

Meet Our Residents

Sugar & Buddy

Two of our beloved horse residents - Sugar & Buddy - were rescued by FSS from extreme neglect, and were in desperate need of TLC.

Before being rescued, Sugar had been permanently caged in an unsanitary, dirty stall. This caused her to be covered in feces and suffer from urine burns that made her unable to walk. Buddy was severely underweight, which can cause severe, long-term medical issues even after proper treatment. After months of intense rehabilitation and care - and with the help of our volunteers and donors like you - we are proud to say Sugar & Buddy are thriving!

Kitties

In 2019, we rescued 69 feral kittens. Most of the kittens come to us underweight and with serious medical issues, including feline herpes, hemobartonella, and parasite infestations.

At February Star Sanctuary, we care for our kittens around the clock with feedings/bottle feeding, socialization, and emergency medical care. We provide medical treatments, vaccinations, and neuter/spay surgeries before they go to their new forever homes.

We consider every kitty saved to be a success - but nothing makes us happier than when their forever families send us an update about their happy, healthy kitty!
