ParivarBayArea has a simple tagline: “Our South Asian Queer Trans Family.” Reclaiming spaces beyond cisness, ParivarBayArea uplifts South Asian Trans and Gender Non-Conforming (GNC) individuals and welcomes all queer, gay, lesbian, intersex, bisexual, and allies. As the front door for the greater South Asian Queer Diaspora, ParivarBayArea focuses on our local, California community with a global mindset. We strive to

  • Create a Transgender, Intersex, GenderNonBinary Kinnar, Hijra, Kothi, Aravani, Shiv-Shakthis, Jogti, Nupimanbi, Mangalamukhi, Thirunangai centered space to unapologetically uplift the most marginalized members of our communities.

  • Bringing together Trans, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Ally, and Pansexual identities as one family that stands for the collective liberation of all.

  • Lead global Trans emergency relief programs and drive Trans economic justice and healthcare equity.

  • Promote an inclusive definition of the South Asian diaspora, including individuals from the Caribbean, West Indies, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and anywhere else in the world.

  • Build racial equity and cultural inclusivity to fight Anti-Asian racism, Xenophobia, gender binary constraints, anti-blackness, and immigration inequality.

  • Drive South Asian Trans Queer education, awareness, and inclusion through meaningful partnerships aligned with ParivarBayArea’s vision

SITAL (Save Indian Trans AllINDIA Lives) is focused on Indian trans, hijra, intersex, third gender, and non-binary communities facing unprecedented neglect, isolation, infection, and starvation due to the ongoing covid-19 second wave. It is a pan-India effort working vigorously to support over 50+ communities/birdaris across 23 states, to begin with. This wave of COVID has wreaked havoc in India. In 2020, our efforts help save and support over 5000 folx with food, shelter, and rebuilding efforts from the first wave. And as the crises deepened in 2021, the Trans Hijra communities are once again marginalized, neglected, and reeling in starvation, isolation, and severe exposure to the infection. We need your help. Trans Hijra's lives are precious.
SITAL is a strategic initiative that really calls for your attention to include Trans Hijra Kinnar lives of India in every health effort including vaccine access, every community conversation, every rebuilding, and reopening effort.
