Parivar Bay Area’s workforce and leadership program is transforming lives for transgender and gender-nonbinary immigrants who are too often shut out of stable opportunity. Since its debut in 2021, the program has graduated 216 leaders—87 of them in 2025 alone across four powerful cohorts. Participants come from 21 countries, including 42% asylees and 5% refugees, and represent the vibrant heart of our region: 41% from San Francisco County and the broader Bay Area, 15% from Los Angeles County, and 11% from San Jose/Santa Clara County. Our curriculum provides life-changing tools in digital literacy, workplace communication, résumé building, financial empowerment, public speaking, community advocacy, and trauma-informed leadership. With each participant receiving a modest $1,500 stipend to remain stable during training, the program serves as both a lifeline and a launchpad for a population that is 70% transgender and gender-nonbinary.

Your support ensures these community members have the dignity, stability, and resources they need to continue their journeys toward economic independence and leadership. By investing in Parivar Bay Area, you aren’t just funding a program—you’re fueling a powerful equity engine for immigrants who are navigating some of the toughest barriers imaginable. Every contribution expands access to training, mentorship, and hands-on learning in civic engagement, community organizing, career readiness, and holistic well-being—skills that equip participants to step into leadership in their workplaces, families, and communities. Together, we can keep this momentum alive and ensure every participant has the opportunity to claim their power and build the future they deserve.
