STARTING A DIGITAL JOURNEY 

We believe in rewarding the dedication and efforts of our digital learners, Adults & Seniors, residing in LMI, low-and-moderate-income and underserved areas, that come to us with little to no computer skills or training to start their digital journey with us!

THE TOOLS 
We provide some helpful digital tools with training that Adults need to thrive in this digital world. We award them with a "Digital Power Pack Laptop Bundle" that includes a brand-new laptop, fully loaded with Microsoft 365, McAfee anti-virus, a variety of tech accessories, wireless mouse, pre-loaded flash drive with resources and lots of office supplies. Any donation amount will help us to build these Digital Power Packs!

GIVING ACCESS 
By helping us to build the Digital Power Packs you're helping to give these Adults & Seniors access to the internet on a device they have learned to use. This helps increase digital inclusion in our LMI communities! Your support will help them get started or continue on their digital journey!

SUCCESSES
Adults that successfully complete the digital skills and literacy training programs with 10 + hours of interactive, hands-on training with a trainer when needed, and learn at bare minimum their basic computer & literacy skills, become more confident with navigating the laptop, increase their typing skills, an actively participated on Zoom, were awarded the brand-new Digital Power Pack or a Digital Backpack! These Digital Learners are between the ages of 30 - 70+ years old, an attend these in- person workshops on a monthly basis over 3 - 5 months on average, at our Data Tech Training Center located in Dallas, TX that is fully equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, laptop devices, table & chairs and an easy-to-follow training curriculum on the big monitor!

DIGITAL JOURNEY IMPACT

Giving a Sense of Accomplishment! 
The Adult Learners that were struggling with the computer functions, navigating the internet, going back-n-forth between screens, really appreciated the hands-on support and patience provided by the Trainers to help them keep going so they were able to learn at their own pace. This gave them the confidence needed and they felt the accomplishment to be able to keep up with the training to learn the basics of how to use the computer within 10 + hours so they could reach their goal to be awarded a Digital Power Pack to take home and be able to continue practicing on their computer & literacy skills. 

There were some adults where this was their first time with internet access and being able to work on a laptop to learn the basic functions, type an email, save a document or search for information correctly.   

> For the majority of our Seniors, this was their first time with a new laptop fully loaded with MicroSoft 365 + anti-virus, new tech accessories and be able to own a brand-new device to take to their own home or space.

> For all the adults, for them to learn tips and important information on how to be online safely to connect with family & friends and take care of business or shopping online gave them more confidence on know how to avoid fake scams and be good digital citizens!

> Many of the adults were able to increase their digital skills to open up opportunities to go after better paying jobs, even start a side hustle, have job interviews on Zoom, etc. all from the comfort of their kitchen table.

Power U UP! is a Tech Non-Profit, 501 c 3 organization, that has been growing since 2019 serving adults and seniors in our underserved and LMI communities. We offer a variety of customized digital skills, digital literacy, digital financial literacy, digital communications and cyber security awareness computer training programs to non-profit organizations, churches, agencies, school districts and senior organizations, in Dallas and Collin County and other cities surrounding the Dallas area.
