Prism Counseling & Advocacy has been serving the *2SLGBTQIA+ community and their families since 2000, providing low and no-cost mental health services. As an agency run by our community for our community, we have been offering individual, partner, family, and group therapies, as well as harm reduction counseling and case management, to over 500 clients in 2025. This has enabled us to reach 1,119 community members since 2023. As 2025 progresses, Prism remains dedicated to our mission of delivering high-quality, comprehensive mental health services without the fear of cost being a barrier.
As Prism has continued to grow and provide services to more community members, we are coming face-to-face with what it means to be invested in care work. To invest in our people, to love our community, and to demand access to the care we deserve has become a radical notion. Being queer in 2025 is to pour into a world we may never live in - to cultivate and fight for a future we may never see.
Preserving the integrity, stability, and beauty of what we do here and how we uplift and empower our staff must be a cornerstone of our mission. As we continue to expand our outreach and the lives we empower, focusing on supporting, our allies will be imperative. We at Prism are hopeful that we can count on you to find your path to community, as Prism will need each of you in the years to come. Our fight to protect those we serve and those we are home to is only just beginning. We are confident that our staff are ready to rise to whatever occasion may be on the horizon, and we hope you will be willing to stand by us in your own capacity.
The work done at Prism each day is humbling and we hope that the tremendous amount of love and courage it takes for our staff to do this work is clear. We can’t continue to do this work without donations from businesses and community members who want to help us uphold our mission, no matter what is to come. Our ability to provide free and low-cost services relies on grants and donations, many of which are becoming increasingly uncertain each day.
