Turning Fear into Hope for Moms & Babies Around the World

In 2019, I delivered our first baby Alexis at 39 weeks gestation and after 9 days of having her in our arms, she was gone forever. Everything happened so fast we thought we were just having a bad dream and we would eventually wake up. Alexis had pale skin, super lethargic and was awaiting a blood transfusion. Not really knowing the reason or the cause, we thought it was just bad luck that we lost her. Until it happened again.

In 2022, I delivered our second baby who would later follow Alexis just after 3 days of being in our arms too. Snatched like that. Only that this time we find out it all has to do with alloimmunization after self diagnosis and by the huge help of the AHF Patient Support Group and later linking up with Bethany on a more closer level and a confirmation case report with a positive DCT we fought so hard to access from the hospital.

In the same year I "miraculously" get pregnant with our third baby and I spiral down with panic, worry, anxiety, name them all...because we had already known what we were dealing this and with the little to no care available in my country, I was definitely not ready to lose a third baby.

In 2023, the miraculous conception would lead to a miraculous event. The Allo Hope Foundation, with a lot of hard work was able to pull huge efforts and through such funding (this brings me to tears every single time) I was able to travel to Austin Texas from Kenya in Africa, to access the right care and monitoring that would save my now 2 year old Lucas. My miracle. I couldn't thank the Allo Hope Foundation more and that's why i'm joining this year's stocking fundraiser...to further their mission, to continue saving more HDFN babies and in remembrance of my two HDFN babies who left too soon. Max & Alexis, I love you both soo much.

Every year, mothers and babies around the world face a rare, life threatening condition called HDFN; when a mother’s blood creates antibodies that attack her baby’s red blood cells. With the right care, babies survive HDFN and thrive. Without it, the outcomes can be devastating. Like what happened to my two babies.

That’s where the Allo Hope Foundation (AHF) comes in. AHF provides education, specialist referrals, global access initiatives, and research so that mothers and babies receive the lifesaving care and support they need during their HDFN diagnosis.

This Giving Tuesday and throughout the Holiday season, we are raising money for AHF to honor (enter name)'s battle with HDFN and to help protect other babies from preventable harm. Please join me in sharing hope with those who need it most by contributing to (Max & Alexis's Stocking Fundraiser.

Your donation today helps:

  • Put a support booklet in the hands of a newly diagnosed mother so she can advocate for her baby

  • Fund a blood-type test or Rh immunoglobulin dose for a mother in a low resource country.

  • Connect a family with a maternal–fetal specialist experienced in HDFN.

  • Advance research and education to prevent stillbirths and infant deaths caused by alloimmunization and HDFN.

Thank you for helping us honor 0Max & Alexis and for standing with families facing HDFN around the world. Your generosity brings education, treatment, and hope to those who need it most.

From our family to yours, we wish you a beautiful and peaceful holiday season.
