Team Opal (early childhood): Building Bridges Together

Even our youngest learners understand that friendship means helping each other! This fall, our early childhood class has been busy building skills and confidence as they master new challenges together. They're learning to wait their turn on the climbing triangle, exploring volume by filling containers with fall leaves and acorns, and practicing fine motor skills with tweezers, scissors, and glue sticks. Whether they're creating jack-o-lanterns from painted pumpkins, sorting colorful gems by color, experimenting with how many pumpkins fit in a container or how high they can lift them, or casting votes at circle time to choose stories like Is Your Mama a Llama, our Opals are discovering new things every day.

From dancing to "We Are the Dinosaurs" and reading How to Dress a Dinosaur to celebrating birthdays with banana nut muffins, solving block puzzles, playing house, and spending extra time outdoors during Wild Woods Wednesdays with the Amethyst class, these friends are learning what it means to be part of a classroom family. Our Opal class is excited to support Neighbors Helping Neighbors because we know that school is more fun when all our friends can be here together. We love learning side by side, sharing stories, and discovering the world as a classroom family. With help from our grown-ups, we're working to make sure every child in our community can join the joy of learning at our school. When we help our neighbors, we make our whole school a happier place for everyone!
