Dear Friends,

This #GivingTuesday, join us in supporting seniors on fixed incomes with very few resources to keep up with the rising cost of living.  Every senior deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest and happiest life, and your generous gift can help make that possible. Together, we can provide vital resources, programs, and care to secure their golden years.

MEET BERNADETTE
Bernadette has been a resident of Culpepper Garden since 2023 where she receives the highest level of care in our Assisted-Living residence. Four years ago, Bernadette had hip and knee replacement surgeries, which diminished her small savings. After a lengthy stay in rehabilitation, Bernadette went to live with her older sister but soon realized she needed more support than her sister could provide. With the help of relatives in Northern Virginia, the family began researching places where Bernadette could thrive and retain a level of independence. Bernadette's family found Culpepper Garden and helped her to apply. After a year on the waiting list, Bernadette was overjoyed to begin this new chapter in her life in a vibrant retirement community filled with opportunities for social connection and enrichment. Now, she embraces every day with joy, participating in activities like Trivia, Rummikub and playing cards. She also loves socializing with the other residents, using the computer, and shopping outings with her family.

Bernadette attends onsite physical therapy one day a week and is grateful to the staff for the care and support she receives. “The staff here work hard. I see what they do and I'm grateful for their support,” she says with a smile. As she approaches her 74th birthday, Bernadette wakes up each morning filled with gratitude and optimism, knowing she has a strong support system behind her.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, has the power to make a profound difference in the lives of seniors like Bernadette. By working together, we can build a stronger, more connected community where every senior is treated with the respect, dignity, and care they deserve. Thank you in advance for your generosity and for standing with us this #GivingTuesday and beyond!
