We're getting to the other side, but need your help. FTR offers safety, connection and hope in these challenging times. Come to our gym, our kitchen, our recording studio, or join us in the streets to serve our Salt Lake community. Together we'll beat isolation, boredom, the triggers of solitude that can tilt us off our recovery paths.
Here's how we will continue to serve in 2021
Exercise, Nutrition, Creative Expression, Service
Exercise: Over 5,000 people have walked through our doors in five years. In 2021, we plan to serve 500 new people through new community members and new treatment center contracts. We need your help purchasing new equipment and hiring new trainers through the FTR Internship.
Nutrition: Our Registered Dietitian (Corinna) with a lot of help from her FTR friends, prepared over 500 nutritious meals for those disrupted by COVID. And they did it as a community. In 2021, we plan to bring back in-person community meal prep, nutrition education classes and workshops, and cooking demos (COVID-19 permitting). We need your help purchasing food containers for community meal prep, new garden equipment, new cooking equipment, curriculum building, and creating an FTR Cookbook.
Creative Expression: There is great talent in our recovery community and they create for us at Deeply Rooted- a performance series featuring music, poetry, dance, and celebration. They work together in our recording studio to get the words, tunes and lyrics just right for themselves, and for the audience. In 2021, we need your help with purchasing musical instruments for our quarterly Deeply Rooted performances, and ensuring studio time is available to a subsidized cost for individuals willing to perform.
The Jordan River Trail Cleanup Crew
Community Service: At least four times per year, our members venture out to serve the greater Salt Lake Community. Clothing drives in cold weather; The P&J campaign, making lunches for the homeless; visits to senior centers; or passing out water at the Salt Lake Marathon. Service is the best form of gratitude, and we're grateful for our community. In 2021, we hope to make the Three Parks Confluence our own which will require shovels, trash bags, gloves, rakes, etc to make sure the park is looking clean year-round.
That's how we can get past the COVID-19 Divide, and here's how you can help:
For $25, you can help us purchase food containers for community meal prep, and purchase supplies for our quarterly Community Service events including shovels, trash bags, gloves, rakes, etc to make sure the Three Creeks Confluence Park is looking clean year-round.
