The Handphibians are a group of Madison based drummers and musicians dedicated to studying and performing the music of the large drumming ensembles of Brazil. They are modeled after the Escolas de Samba of Rio de Janeiro, Blocos of Salvador do Bahia and Nações of Recife.
For over 25 years, their mission has been to spread the joy of these beautiful styles of music for the people of southern Wisconsin and to create awareness for the communities from which the music originates.
The group has benefitted from bringing teachers and master drummers from Brazil to educate its members and the Madison area.
Create Wisconsin is a registered 501(c)3 organization and serves as the fiscal receiver for this organization. Your donation is will be tax-deductible.
