I SEE YOU — MOTHERS SHAPE THE WORLD

Unchained Mothering is a nonprofit founded by Jessica de Vreeze to make the invisible visible — the emotional, physical, creative, and intellectual labor that shapes families, communities, and society. Through art, photography, storytelling, workshops, and community gatherings, we honor mothers’ journeys and the choices women make every day to raise the next generation with strength, dignity, and love.

We uplift women through empowerment workshops, self-defense sessions, vision-board creation, wish-making circles, chocolate workshops, mentorship programs, and community-based events that create space for confidence, reflection, and healing. Our programs welcome every gender, our artists come from all nationalities, and our stories represent women from every background.

“Be the woman you want to be, become the mother you choose to be.”Together, stronger — always.Today and always: I see you. We see you. You are visible. You matter.

What We Achieved in 2025

This year, Unchained Mothering stepped into a new chapter.

✨ Art Basel Miami 2025 — Our Big Reveal

This December, we will unveil the first chapter of our itinerant exhibition If You Would See. This groundbreaking project merges art, innovation, and human storytelling, inviting the public into a new century of emotional and cultural exploration. Miami is our home base—where everything begins.

🎥 “5 Years Later” Documentary

Directed by Jessica de Vreeze and filmed/edited by Geraldine Guardia, this ongoing documentary collects women’s voices, choices, and truths. Several episodes are completed, and four more remain. Each step of filming costs $1,500.

🌟 Empowerment & Community Programming

From self-defense workshops with White Tiger and Dragon, vision boards at Bet David, wish-making with Wish Beads, chocolate creation with A sprinkle a day,  mentorship of the Juniorette Club of Coconut Grove, and more our events uplift and strengthen women and families while building community bonds.

🏃‍♀️ Miami Give 5K — Our First Participation

Among 2,600 participants and 1,400 nonprofits, our team of 12 showed up with heart.🥇 Kristen Grimberg — First Place Winner of her category, mother of four and our race ambassador, placed us on the podium in our very first participation. She ran for all mothers — and she won. When people show up, everything changes.

A Book Honoring Mothers Across Generations

We are creating a publication that celebrates mothers and grandmothers of past generations, women raising children today, and the next generation that will grow from these stories.

Operational Needs

Your donations support website maintenance, social media, archives, storage, art supplies, studio operations, and nonprofit administration — everything necessary to build this movement.
