A new mural at 410 2nd Street in downtown Hudson will celebrate the story of Hudson by bringing together elements of the community’s past, present, and future.
You can support this project in two ways:
- via this Mightycause page
- send a check to Create Wisconsin (payable to), Box 1054, Madison, WI 53701-1054. Please include a note that the donation is for the Hudson mural.
At approximately 600 square feet, this will be a large, highly visible piece of public art in the heart of downtown—something that will immediately catch the attention of both residents and visitors. The design will highlight the history and character that have shaped Hudson while also representing the vibrant community it is today and the exciting future ahead. Among the recognizable local elements will be Hudson’s Raider mascot, representing the pride and connection shared by generations of Hudson students, families, and residents.
The mural will be painted by Dena June, a Hudson High School graduate who has a personal connection to the community and is incredibly passionate about bringing this project to life. More than simply adding art to a downtown wall, the goal is to create something that feels distinctly Hudson—something residents can be proud of, visitors will remember, and families will stop to see and photograph. Located at 410 2nd Street, this prominent mural will welcome locals and visitors alike to a town with a rich history, a strong sense of community, and a future full of possibility.
The mural will be painted on durable, marine-grade plywood, allowing it to be safely removed and relocated to another location in the future if needed. This approach helps ensure the artwork can remain a lasting part of the Hudson community, even if circumstances at its original location change.
Please note: the photo displayed is not the finished artwork. The actual rendering of the mural will be displayed when sufficient funds are collected.
Many thanks for your support!
