Dr. Michael "Mick" Diez is a monthly donor to the Bags of Hope program at the Community Food Pantry. Dr. Diez brings hundreds of toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes for the toiletry bags the student volunteers put together. Each bag, in addition to the toothpaste and toothpaste, includes soap or body wash, a granola or protein bar, shampoo, feminine products, shampoo, lotion, and other toiletry items as they are available. Since its inception in 2018, more than 40,000 of these bags have been distributed to homeless individuals or to families in crisis, along with a sheet of information pointing to other local support organizations.
